The Fox Family – Our Legacy: Passing on the Fire
The roots of Gut Eich tell the fascinating story of a very special encounter: the union between a Scottish landowner and a traditional Prussian breeding family not far from the Braunsberg stud farm. It was the harmonious coming together of two worlds – the proud heritage of the Scottish Fox clan and the deep, down-to-earth passion of East Prussian horse breeding – that lovingly merged here.
From this connection grew a guiding principle that has sustained us for four generations: Tradition is a commitment. For us, this heritage does not mean a rigid adherence to the past, but rather a living foundation. We preserve the centuries-old knowledge and art of classical Trakehner breeding with deep respect, while simultaneously creating space for modern insights and contemporary progress.
This delicate balance between heritage and future is at the heart of our work at Gut Eich. It demonstrates how wonderfully different influences can enrich one another. For us, tradition is not about preserving the ashes, but about passing on the flame. We feel committed to this responsibility anew each and every day.

Together, we ensure that Gut Eich remains a place where quality, responsibility, and warmth are paramount. At the helm of our estate is Stefan Grupe, who manages the farm with years of experience, composure, and inner peace – ably supported by his dynamic and warm-hearted team, whom we would like to introduce to you here:

Experienced, confident, and with absolute inner calm, he manages the affairs of our farm. He keeps a firm eye on everything at all times – from the big picture to the smallest detail in the pastures and barn. With his reliable nature and his hands-on passion, he is the strong foundation of our business and simply indispensable to daily life at Gut Eich.

A rewarding experience with a gentle touch: training characterized by sensitivity, patience, and a deep understanding of the horse. For Veronika, training is a dialogue on equal footing, based on trust. With great empathy, she gives each animal the necessary time to grow without pressure and proudly unfold its potential.
